4 Ways to Harmonize the Same Melody - Music Composition
Music Matters
Note: This is a more appropriate level of teaching than the previous video I posted by Rick Beato.
The presenter, Gareth Green, is a fine teacher. His focus is on classical music I believe, but the same consideration apply to more popular genres.
The theory is based on common practice, and is often called that. We can easily trace it back to 18th century European music; probably more elite music than popular.
How to harmonize a melody in four different ways. This music composition lesson begins by using diatonic chords to present two possible alternative harmonisations. We then move on to two further harmonisations using chromatic chords and more colour. Useful for anyone wanting to expand their chord skills or wanting to improve their skills of harmonic analysis.
